Miramar Readiness Center

Project

The 104,000-square-foot National Guard Readiness Center is located on approximately 30 acres of the southern portion of the 322-acre Snake Creek Training Site. The $19.9 million project was funded with Military Construction (MILCON) funds for fiscal year 2013.

The two-story building includes traditional National Guard facility features like an assembly hall, storage spaces, platoon areas, and offices. The design is also highly energy efficient and meets the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification rating set by the U.S. Green Building Council.

The four units that call the Miramar Readiness Center their home are from the 1st Battalion, the 124th Infantry Regiment (Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Charlie Company, and the Forward Support Company) and the 13th Army Band.

The site of the Miramar Readiness Center was placed strategically on the northern fringes of Miami-Dade, which places The National Guard in a better posture to handle any type of emergencies that would happen in their Miami-Dade area. In addition, the facility could be vital as a Logistics Staging Area in the event of a hurricane.

Zager Global provided all plumbing services for this ground project. This includes water, sewer, storm and gas piping.
